22nd Balkan Medical Days Completed Successfully
22nd Balkan Medical Days Scientific Program was completed successfully. 135 international and domestic registrations took place during the activities. 35 presentations were presented and the quality of presentations and participants beneficence was maximum.
After two days of complete presentations the third day was completed by a social program visiting Bellapais Monastery and village (Monastery of Peace – White Church), St Hilarion Castle and Kyrenia Harbour and Castle. A Classical Music Concert was conducted by the Presidential Symphony Orchestra, performing Rondo Alla Turca, W.A Mozart; Waltz No:2, D.Shostakovich as well as classical pieces from Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot themes followed by a reception at Bedesten Nicosia. The cooperation, understanding and goodwill was at a maximum at the completion. We hope this will be an important step gaining back the motto of “sante, amitie, paix”

CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS REGARDING 22ND BALKAN MEDICAL DAYS
In 2018 we published a volume of Conference Proceedings on the occasion of The 35th Balkan Medical Week” held in Athens, Greece. This volume was published by Fillodiritto Publishing House (Italy) and was indexed in ISI Clarivate Analytics database on July 1, 2019.
As a result of numerous requests from members of the Balkan Medical Union, we decided to publish a new volume this year under the same conditions. The volume will include articles in extenso of the papers to be presented at the Cyprus congress and will be sent for indexing to ISI Clarivate Analytics. Since the previous volume has been indexed, there is a very good chance that this new volume will be indexed. Please find enclosed the template of the articles in extenso that will be published in the volume CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS to be edited on the occasion of The 22nd Balkan Medical Day, North Cyprus, September 27-29, 2019. Please use this template for editing your articles, this being a must.
An article must not exceed 6 pages in total (including references) and must be written in English only.
Please send the article(s) by 10 September 2019 the latest to

The authors who want to publish in this volume are asked to send the title of the paper by July 24, 2019. The publishing fee will be 90 Euro/article.

NOTICE : ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED
The deadline for abstract submission regarding 22nd Balkan Medical Days has been extended from 01st of July 2019 to 16th of July 2019. Due to many requests for an extension of the deadline, the CTA-BMU organising committee has agreed to extend the deadline for submissions.

Dear Colleagues,
I have the honor to invite you to the 22nd Balkan Medical Days which will take place on 26-29 September 2019. This is a first for the Cyprus Section and we would like to make this congress a regional scientific event. The theme of the congress is “Healthy Living” and this will be discussed and highlighted by different medical disciplines. “Historical Aspects of Medicine and Healthy Living” is also a secondary theme.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Cyprus .

22nd Session Balkan Medical Days
22nd Balkan Medical Days organized by the TRNCyprus Section of the Balkan Medical Union , will be held in NorthCyprus, on 26-29 September 2019 .
The 22nd Balkan Medical Days will gather scientists of multidisciplinary fields from the Balkan countries (Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, FYROM, Greece, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Turkey), members of the French National Academy of Medicine and opinion leaders of health care system. In an attempt to promote medical knowledge and create a strong health network in Balkan countries, an exciting scientific program has been designed this year that will encourage collaboration, exchange of knowledge and experience among members and participants.

Dr. Kaya Bekiroğlu Passed Away
Cyprus Turkish Association of Balkan Medical Union Honorary President Dr. Kaya Bekiroğlu passed away in Nicosia, North Cyprus on 13 March 2018. The CTABMU expresses its deepest condolences to his wife, Dt. Gönül Bekiroğlu and all his family, on his passing.
Dr. Bekiroğlu served Cyprus representative of the Balkan Medical Union before our association existed in 2014 , took up the title of “Honorary Chairman of the Association” and transferred his representation duties at the Balkan Medical Union to Cyprus Turkish Association of Balkan Medical Union.
Many of us knew him as a foremost leader, a prominent surgeon and a strong advocate for cooperation of doctors or other professionals working in health institutions in Balkan Region . We can honour his work and achievements by building upon his work .
